2024 VOLUNTEER COMMITTEES

Volunteer Services

  • Oversee Volunteer Headquarters throughout tournament week to ensure things run smoothly and to keep volunteers upbeat and happy to be involved. Daily tasks may include, but are not limited to, distributing volunteer uniforms that were not picked up at distribution, distributing coffee and/or boxed lunches to volunteers on-site.

Caddie Services

  • Manage and maintain caddie tent.  Responsibilities include caddie registration, towel and bib distribution and collection each day.

Cart Barn & Shuttles

  • Manage the distribution and collection of the golf carts during the course of the day. Volunteers will be responsible for transporting players, caddies, fellow volunteers and staff to various locations on the golf course operating 4-8 passenger carts. Must maintain an accurate log of all carts going in and out of cart compound.

Golf Channel

  • Committee works with television production crew in monitoring the tournament leaders for television broadcast and assisting them in various tasks.
  • Must be available to work at least three days of official tournament rounds

Hospitality Ambassadors

  • Greet all spectators and distribute program guides and pairings sheets as spectators enter. Answer questions regarding directions, pairings, and any other Tournament related information. Ensure that hospitality guests, with proper credentials, are allowed access to the designated hospitality areas and help assist in those areas.

Leaderboards (TBD)

  • Manage and operate all manual scoreboards and track board in a timely manner.

Marshals

  • Provide ball spotting to players and control the movement and conversations of spectators on greens and tee boxes, control roped areas and crosswalks. In the event of an evacuation marshals will be asked to help assist in evacuating players on the course. Volunteers must be knowledgeable of golf etiquette.
  • Hole Captains
    • Assist with scheduling volunteers for respective hole.
  • Junior volunteer positions available

Merchandise

  • Assist in replenishing and selling tournament goods in the official tournament merchandise pavilion.

On-Course Services

  • Replenish water, ice, printed material, and other products on course. Assist with lunch delivery to volunteers on-course. Must be at least 21 years of age.

Player Services / Dining (FEMALE ONLY VOLUNTEERS)

  • Control access to Player Dining by checking credentials of those trying to enter and keep an accurate log of entries.
  • Manage player registration, the assembly of player information packets, distribution of incoming mail and packages to the player locker room, and any other requests from players. Female Only Committee and must be 21 years or older.
  • Please note volunteers in this committee will have early and/or late hours.

Practice Facility

  • Control access to driving range and other practice facilities onsite. Distribute and maintain golf balls for players and caddies.
  • Junior volunteer positions available

Scoring Control / Radios

  • Responsible for recording incoming player scores at scoring tents, relaying information, listening to scores being reported by walking scorers, and imputing scores into a transportable device. Responsibilities also include distributing Tournament radios to appropriate staff, volunteers and vendors and ensuring they all get returned at the end of each day and put on charge.

Special Projects (TBD)

  • Assist tournament staff with tournament events, which include Pro-Am, Sponsor Outings and Expos. Responsibilities may include registration, assembling and distributing gift packs, assisting with pro-am, preparing tournament materials, distributing prizes. Also assist with any youth and auxiliary events held during tournament week.

Standard Bearers

  • Carry a 4' sign inside the ropes, displaying the current players score throughout the duration of the round. Volunteers must be able to lift 15lbs and carry it around the course for 18 holes or up to 5 hours.
  • Must be available to work at least three days of official tournament rounds
  • Junior volunteer positions available

Tee Box Crew

  • Announce each group prior to them teeing off. Also responsible for distributing player scorecards, pin sheets and pencils on 1st and 10th Tees.

Ticket Officers

  • Handle all on-site ticket transactions; from selling to distributing will call tickets. Volunteers will also be responsible for scanning tickets at main entrance.  Volunteers may also be asked to oversee scooter rentals.

Tournament Office

  • Assist with general office duties, projects, and errands (which may include answering phones and making copies). Responsibilities will also include managing the shipping, receiving and distribution process of all Tournament packages. Volunteers must be comfortable performing basic computer skills. This committee begins prior to tournament week and will interact with various groups, primarily staff and volunteers, on-site.

Transportation

  • Responsible for the transportation of players, staff, and sponsors to and from airports, surrounding hotels, housing, golf course, etc. Volunteers will also manage the distribution of tournament vehicles to selected recipients. Please note volunteers in this committee will have early and/or late hours. Must be 21 years or older and have a valid driver’s license.

Walking Scorers

  • Responsibilities include recording and relaying scores on a handheld device. Volunteers must be comfortable performing basic computer skills and be knowledgeable of golf etiquette/scoring and able to walk 18 holes of a golf course.
  • Must be available to work at least three days of official tournament rounds
